Our Pick of Rotorua's best:

1
Skyline Skyrides is very popular with all ages. To begin your Skyline Rotorua adventure, take a leisurely uphill gondola ride and enjoy the extensive views of Rotorua, the surrounding lakes and geothermal areas. At the top, the thrill of the luge, the relaxing cafe, beautiful nature walks and exciting adventure activities all await you. The choice is yours!. You can enjoy an early dinner in the restaurant before taking the Gondola back down to earth. Return to Sport of Kings for a relaxing spa, a glass of NZ Pinot Gris in front of the TV and a comfotable nights rest before starting all over, after your in room breakfast of course. Whilst in the car park take the opportunity to visit Rainbow Springs - it is right next door.
2
Te Puia Every day in Te Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley geysers erupt, mud pools bubble and steam hisses. Over 500 pools and 65 geyser vents, each with their own name, are found in the Te Whakarewarewa geothermal valley in Rotorua. Many magnificent geysers are active here, the most famous geyser, Pohutu (big splash or explosion), erupts up to 30 metres high depending on her mood. Visitors are welcome to visit the carving school to watch the carvers at work and ask them about their carving. The carving school is one of the attractions included in the Te Puia experience guided tours.

Tamaki Village. Enroute to Tamaki Maori Village, nestled in the thick of an ancient Tawa forest, your guide will instruct you on the rules of entering a Marae and the protocol you must observe. The visiting tribe must appoint a Chief to accept the peace offering and to represent those on your coach. Representation of your group is considered an honourable task in Maoridom. As you make your way to the village, you’ll learn about the great Maori migration - when Maori journeyed across the vast ocean in massive Waka (canoes) to New Zealand. You’ll also enjoy some fascinating Maori legends and stories from our history. If this sounds like fun you wont be disappointed. You are picked up from Sport of Kings and the fun starts then and doesn't end until you return. This is an attraction that should be booked in advance so let us know if you wish us to book for you when you make your reservation at Sport of Kings.
